Thanks for organizing another excellent painting weekend in Hay-on- Wye.
I think we all benefited from your tuition and managed to produce some decent pictures in convivial company.
Thank you for organising the art trip to Hay on Wye.
When we arrived at the war memorial at 9 o'clock the atmosphere was dull and the subject of buildings looked daunting. With your encouragement and sketchbooks in hand we began to turn the subject into a lively scene, noting the relative heights of people to shop windows and doors, the various poses they took as they crossed the square, some with children and dogs in tow. As we transferred sketches to watercolour paper the sun came out.
We gathered for an enjoyable and lively evening meal where the various challenges of the day were discussed at length.
The subject for the following day was a scene of tranquility until we started to tackle the complex woodwork structure toll bridge at Whitney. The weather was on our side again and with sunhats on following your guidance on angles and simplification of the scene, the task in hand was very enjoyable.
A special weekend in Wales.
Thank you, once again, Robin for another of your well organised and rewarding weekend breaks.
You always manage to combine friendly and enthusiastic tuition with good humour and attention to all our needs so that we can relax and enjoy our weekend. Obviously a lot of hard work and thought goes into planning these weekends and I'm so pleased my painting trip to Hay was a huge success with lots of special memories to take away with me.
Looking forward to the next one!
2015 - 2017 Reviews
I have really enjoyed exploring the techniques of other Artists and finally getting the idea of individuality rather than slavishly copying. I very much appreciate your patience and gift of nurturing individual talent. I will be coming to the final sketching class in June. These have given me far more confidence.
I have really enjoyed my first evening class with you. Being a complete beginner I was nervous to begin with but soon relaxed and gained in confidence. I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn but with your encouragement and guidance I am looking forward to improving. I would certainly recommend your classes.
Thank you Robin for a great trip to Snowdonia.
The oportunity to paint "en plein air" in a relaxed and friendly way was throughly enjoyable and well planned.
Having experienced several painting weekends with you, l know I can always look forward to a friendly, instructive and helpful experience and would recommend that anyone considering it should give it a go in 2017.
I wanted to say thank you for a splendid and thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Thank you for all your hard work arranging it and finding such super locations. I have returned refreshed and renewed. We were nattering on the way back and saying that the trouble with modern life is that it does not feed the things of the spirit - something this weekend did in spades! Thanks for the super tuition - you are always so patient and encouraging - I have three paintings, all full of mistakes, but rich in learned experience! Will be in touch soon. Thanks again....."
